Description

Upper Langley is a 10-acre co-housing community developed in conjunction with the City of Langley’s Affordable Housing Initiative. Of sixteen housing lots, we have one 2000 sq. ft. lot for sale. Purchaser must be income qualified: household income may not exceed 120% of median income. Each lot purchase includes membership in the Home Owners Association (HOA).
ONE LOT FOR SALE
*Lot price is $86,000, contingent on closing costs and date of sale.
*Lot ownership includes shared ownership in 10 acres, excluding the other 15 lots.
*The lots and homes are deed restricted to appreciate at a fixed rate to ensure perpetual affordability.
*Lot owner designs and builds own home.
*House size is limited to 975 sq ft, excluding bathrooms and stairways.
*Currently we hold monthly HOA meetings and assess monthly dues of $75.
*Our co-housing community makes decisions by consensus.

We are a mix of ages, low and middle income households, and special needs adults. The land consists of beautiful meadow and five acres of mature second growth forest. The community is pedestrian-based, though emergency and construction road access is available to all homes. We share in the care and responsibility for the community amenities, including common structures: sheds and future common house, common land eg. green space, vegetable garden, trails, and landscaping. Participation may include serving on one or more committees, sharing weeding, cultivating, planting, HARVESTING, building, cooking for the community, child care, or other group activities. We enjoy peaceful and simple living, work parties, a large organic garden, potlucks, and good times.
