Our Strategic Vision
We believe the future of housing is rooted in community. Our Blueprint for Belonging 2030 guides our work over the next five years, expanding our reach, strengthening our ecosystem, and supporting more people in creating collaborative, connected ways of living.
This vision reflects an evolution in our mission. Alongside cohousing, we champion a broader spectrum of community-rooted housing models, including co-buying, retrofit neighborhoods, intergenerational communities, and other shared approaches that foster connection, sustainability, and democratic participation.
Our Strategic Priorities
- Ignite Awareness and Deepen Engagement
Increase visibility and understanding of cohousing and community-rooted living through storytelling, events, and accessible pathways for engagement. - Break Barriers and Broaden Access
Address affordability and systemic inequities while embracing the diverse ways people are building community today. - Fuel Community Growth and Resilience
Equip forming and established communities with tools, education, and peer learning to help them thrive over time. - Grow a Thriving, Connected Ecosystem
Strengthen partnerships across regions and sectors, engaging professionals and allied organizations to support community-rooted housing nationwide. - Strengthen Organizational Capacity
Build the funding, infrastructure, and systems needed to serve a growing movement with clarity and sustainability.
