Description

Lyons Valley Village (LVV) is a small HOA condominium association choosing to embrace co-housing values. We are based in beautiful Lyons, Colorado.

Our community was built in 2007 and consists of 18 individual housing units clustered around shared common space. Our homes range from 880 square foot one story condos to townhouses, to single family homes, each with traditional amenities including private kitchens. All LVV buildings are green built and exceed Colorado "Built-Green"standards, promoting energy efficiency and environmentally compatible construction.

Our shared community space includes a 2,200 square foot common house, which has a gourmet kitchen, large dining area, sitting room with fireplace, guest quarters, laundry, children's playroom, workout room, and book library. Additional shared amenities include a tool library, outside dining and grill area, and our community garden. We are self-governing and we all try our best to help care for our shared space.

The LVV property borders Bohn Park and hiking trails out our back gate. We are less than a block from the St. Vrain River and about four blocks from the town of Lyons.

We have close to 35 residents ranging in age from newborns to retirees.

Cohousing is traditionally a collaborative community of residents who actively participate in the design and operation of their own neighborhood and is different from individual housing in that community is designed to foster connection between neighbors.

Cohousing facilitates a smaller footprint for individual homes by sharing resources.

Cohousing also facilitates relationships between residents through ongoing social activities such as sharing meals. The houses face each other and the common lawn, encouraging daily neighbor interaction.
