Our vision is to create an intentional neighborhood that demonstrates a strong ethic of regenerative placemaking and environmental stewardship, following building and living practices that support rather than destroy Nature's ecological systems. Feeling part of a supportive community is of utmost importance to our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. In order to foster meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging and connectedness, we strive to be open-minded and mutually respectful, employ communication and decision-making practices that are inclusive and appreciative of each individual's unique contribution to the whole, and participate in collaborative work projects, play, and celebrations. The Highland Lake environment is a unique location for a cohousing community. There’s a feeling that’s palpable of connection with Nature and with the earth. Being in the mountains by a lake is very calming, with a felt-sense of belonging and interconnectedness. Forest Glen’s location offers its residents the opportunity to be a part of the community that has grown in this beautiful setting, along with all the community-building events already happening at Highland Lake Cove and Treska’s on Highland Lake.
