Description
Riverbed Ranch, located in Juab County, Utah, is an off-grid homesteading community organized as a non-profit agricultural cooperative under Utah law. It emphasizes self-reliance, family-oriented living, and sustainable food production, with plans for up to 250 two-acre homestead sites. While it is not explicitly labeled as a cohousing community, it shares some overlaps with cohousing's intentional, collaborative ethos.
The concept is that each homestead has at least 2 acres of land, along with water shares, to [eventually] produce all their own life-sustaining food, water and power. We're reinventing the small farming town and hope to one day cooperatively sell all our surplus food stuffs.
